The color guard is comprised of talented young performers, adding visual vibrancy and interpretation to the band’s performance with the work of flag, saber, and rifles through dance.

I was drawn to Olivet College because of its small class sizes and the campus. I also like all of the one-on-one with the teachers. Being in the band helps me make connections with people that I wouldn’t normally make, specially with upperclassmen and people outside of my classes and major. I’m excited about the new experience of marching in a college band, compared to a high school band.

Being a Marching Comet helps me get really involved in campus. I get to know other student at the events that the band participates in. I also attend events that I usually wouldn’t, and have a lot of fun.

By being a part of the Marching Comets, it has enhanced my overall college experience in such a positive way! Through band I was able to meet some of my best friends and people who are now my Greek brothers and sisters. To come to college and being a freshman a year ago going to band camp was a way for me to get comfortable with being away from home. There is nothing like a band family and marching band is my favorite time of year!

Participating in the Marching Comets enhances my student life by keeping me involved and updated on the stats of the games. We also support the football team for the games to keep them pumped up. It helps my college experience because band influences me to go to the games to stay active in the school and participate in parades and any other functions that come up.
